If the success of the original Nightmare on Elm Street movie, released in 1984, had hinged not on money but on whether or not it could give moviegoers nightmares, then I can tell you firsthand that the film was a blockbuster, aside from the fact that in reality it was also an instant commercial hit as well.  This retro Nightmare on Elm Street Logo shirt reminds me of watching the original Elm Street movie at a friend’s house in the 1980s, after which I had recurring nightmares starring myself and the killer with the gruesomely charred flesh, Freddy Krueger.  One reason why the movie is so effective at shaking kids up, aside from Freddy wielding a glove adorned with knives, is the fact that in the story you can’t just pull the sheets up over your head and fall asleep to feel safe.  That’s precisely when you’re the most vulnerable.  I guess some movies are rated R for a reason.  Wear this 1984 styled Nightmare on Elm Street Logo tee to commemorate the original Freddy Krueger movie, which marked the start of when it was no longer safe to dream.
