In the episode “The Tangerine Factor”, Sheldon Cooper uses Austrian physicist Erwin Schrodinger’s 1935 theoretical experiment to help explain to Penny the possible outcomes of going on a date with Leonard.  He reasons that the date currently has both good and bad possible outcomes, and that the only way to know for sure is to “open the box” and go on the date.  He relates this to the experiment alluded to by this Big Bang Schrodinger’s Cat shirt.  If a cat is placed in a sealed box with a radioactive source that may or may not become unstable, at which time a poison will be released that will kill the cat, the cat can be deemed both alive and dead if we can’t see inside the box.  This thought experiment was used by the physicist to convey his issue with the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics.  Wear this Big Bang Theory Schrodinger’s t-shirt to help explain to your friends the existence simultaneous outcomes for an upcoming event.
