Tonight, I had the chance to eat one of my all time favorite foods, Alaskan King Crab Legs.  As they arrived to the table, I couldn’t help thinking about the journey this crustacean made to get to my plate.  Why, you ask?  All of a sudden, the Discovery Channel TV show Deadliest Catch popped into my head and visions of crab fishing flooded my mind.  I am posting this Deadliest Catch t-shirt because of how courageous it is that these men and women are willing to go out into the harsh seas to retrieve these tasty treats for us.  Catch this tee if you agree.

The Deadliest Catch is a documentary about one of the most dangerous and labor intensive jobs in existence, crab fishing.  On the show, we follow various fishing and crabbing boats like the Northwestern, Maverick, Cornelia Marie, Wizard, Time Bandit and Sea Star as they battle the Bering Sea to get their share of Alaskan King Crab.  While you see the men succeed, you also see the many hardships they encounter during their voyage, including being knocked to the deck by icy waves, facing the discouraging reality of empty pots, and unexpectedly being stuck out of port.  In addition to this, you see the U.S. Coast Guard's rescue efforts of capsized vessels like the Big Valley, which sank during season one, leaving only a lone survivor.
