Each season there are a handful of new TV shows that I miss the initial opportunity to watch. After coming across this design for ABC’s Once Upon a Time, I decided to take a closer look at the series. After all, for a designer to be inspired enough to create such a solid t-shirt design, there has to be something about the show that makes it worth watching. I came to discover that the series, which stars Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison and Robert Carlyle, tells the story of Snow White, Prince Charming, their daughter Emma, and a potent curse unleashed upon them by the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla). Just before the curse is delivered, Snow White and Prince Charming place their daughter in a magic wardrobe that allows her to escape, while the rest of them, including a number of other fairy tale characters, are banished to the present day town of Storybrooke, Maine. There, they are unaware of their true identities and are unable to leave.
The design on this Once Upon a Time shirt celebrates the cursed town of Storybrooke by displaying Rumpelstiltskin's dagger from the TV series and related fairy tales. The town's clock starts moving again when Snow White and Prince Charming’s daughter Emma (Jennifer Morrison) arrives. Now 28, Emma had been living a mundane existence in Boston as a bounty hunter and bail bondsman. That all changes when she arrives in Storybrooke and begins to learn the truth about her past and the extraordinary, yet seemingly ordinary residents of the town.
