Did you ever notice that you need to do something when you can’t or that you want something more when you can’t have it?  I think everyone notices this problem when all of a sudden they have to pee after getting caught in traffic.  I’m currently experiencing this problem because of Lent.  I gave up cookies and just like a child, it made me want them more than ever because I can’t have them.  This One Tough Cookie t-shirt reminded me to stay strong during my cookie withdrawal.

Lent is the period of time from Ash Wednesday to Easter when Christians are suppose to rededicate themselves to their faith and prepare for the anniversary of the death and resurrection of Jesus.  Traditionally, Lent has three main focal points, including prayer, fasting and almsgiving (volunteering or giving to the poor) that are to be explored during this time.  In today’s society, many people limit their commitment to giving up an enjoyable food or vice during the forty day period (not including Sundays).  They also abstain from eating meat on Fridays.  How to handle Lent is up to the individual and what they are comfortable with.  This tee is a testament to the effort.
