Based on a comic book character created by writer and illustrator Dave Stevens, The Rocketeer first appeared in the 1982 comic Starslayer #1.  This Rocketeer movie shirt features the superhero whose adventures take place in 1938 Los Angeles.  The story begins with a stunt pilot named Cliff Secord (Billy Campbell) discovering a jetpack hidden by gangsters who stole it from Howard Hughes, its creator.  Cliff and mechanic A. “Peevy” Peabody (Alan Arkin) fine-tune the rocket pack and Peevy designs Cliff a matching full-face aerodynamic protective helmet to wear when flying, which also functions as a disguise.  This Rocketeer shirt features the freedom flyer in action as he battles Eddie Valentine’s gang and Nazi spies, who want to get their hands on the jetpack.
